Perhaps you decide to go away from the classic Chicken Dance and Electric Slide and opt more for Jazz standards. You want to be able to get the people up and dancing, but it should be because they want to and not because some DJ is telling them to. You may even decide to cut the evening a bit shorter and go with a four hour string quartet where your guests are serenaded all evening and there is time to chat more than dance.
