Essential Elements For a Romantic Winter Wedding

If you are planning a romantic winter wedding there are several elements that you will want to include into your day. Take a moment and think about what makes life romantic. In the traditional sense candles, roses, music and chocolate bring about romance. In the more personal sense staring deep into the eyes of someone that you love and hearing them say “I love you” brings about romance. If you want to have a warm and cozy romantic winter wedding then you will be able to do so by incorporating just a few key things into your wedding.

The first essential element for a romantic winter wedding is to find the right space. If you can find a venue for your reception that is cozy and yet large enough to fit everyone on your guest list then you will be one step in the right direction. You should look for a venue that has great ambient lighting, an amazing dance floor and a venue director who is willing to help you every step of the way to get what you are looking for. Even if you have had to go with a space because of budgetary constraints if you can find the right venue director they will be able to help make all of your dreams come true.

The second step for establishing a romantic winter wedding is setting the scene. Lighting changes everything. You will want to talk to your venue director and possibly a lighting designer to help create the perfect setting. Tackle each space in the reception with a different concern for lighting. On the dance floor you can have shadows reflected on the floor with perhaps snowflakes or your new monogram. The cake should have a spotlight on it to attract attention and possibly you want to have it lit in a certain color such as green or blue. The tables where all your guests are seated should be under a bit lower light with maybe lots of candles to create that intimate and gathered feel. The rest of the room could have ambient light but does not need to be all lit up.

The music that you play will also have a big effect on the romantic feel of the wedding. Perhaps you decide to go away from the classic Chicken Dance and Electric Slide and opt more for Jazz standards. You want to be able to get the people up and dancing, but it should be because they want to and not because some DJ is telling them to. You may even decide to cut the evening a bit shorter and go with a four hour string quartet where your guests are serenaded all evening and there is time to chat more than dance.

Flowers will also be an essential element for a romantic winter wedding. Roses are perhaps the symbol of romance. A room filled with roses in a variety of heights and hues will create a romantic feel. At the bar you could have two tall arrangements on either side. On the tables you could have rose petals strewn around the base of many candles. By the cake you could have two tall topiaries sitting on the floor as guardians.

The most essential element for a romantic winter wedding is that the bride and the groom are in love. On your wedding day let everything else go and just stare into the eyes of the man you have married. Remember this day as the day you said yes forever. You will be filled with joy and love your guests will feel it too.
