Destination Weddings and Guests

One of the most important aspects of your destination wedding will be the guests. You want to have your wedding in a wonderfully warm, beautiful location. Not that home is not like this but you do not want a traditional wedding. The problem is that everyone in your family is wondering how you will pull this off. You may be wondering that too. One of thing you will need to take into consideration first off is that of your guests. Who will you invite, how will it get paid for and when should you get started are some of the most essential first questions to take into consideration.

Who To Invite

Right away you will need to know who you will be inviting to your wedding destination. You may be looking for just your parents, brothers and sisters and possibly your close friends. You may just want even fewer individuals. Or, you may want to offer any of your family members to come with you. The choice is yours. But! First realize that if you invite many guests down to your destination wedding, some may not be able to pay for it, especially if it is costly. Some may not be able to get time off from work. What’s more is that you may find some offended that you are asking them to spend this amount of money on your wedding. Here are some things to consider.

• Plan early. Send “save the date” invitations out for your guests so that they know quite well in advance when your wedding is. They may be able to plan vacation time around this event then.

• If you end up paying for some, you should offer to pay for all. You may find that some people will feel slighted if they are not asked to come to your wedding on your dime. On the other hand, you may find that this is just too costly and should not worry about it.

• It’s a vacation for them. If they decide to come to your wedding on their own dime, realize that you should give them some space and time to do whatever it is that they would like to. Do not plan for every minute of your trip to include them. Give your guests time to do what they want to.

What’s more is that there are likely to be those that can’t make it. Here, you can decide if you should have a reception back at home or not. Or, you can just invite them over for dinner instead. Don’t let your guests hold you back though.
